Nepal is situated in between India and China. There is no option to arrive Nepal via Air or by land, because Nepal is a landlocked country in the south Asia.

Procedure to Enter in Nepal
Every foreigner can obtain Visa on arrival to Nepal immigration both by air and land, except certain Middle East country and African nationalities.

The Visa
you need to fill out the visa application form on arrival with six month valid passport and one copy of passport-size photo with a light background. The visa is valid for multiple entries and exits. The cost is depends on your duration to stay in the country. US $ 25.00 for 15 days single/multiple entry, US $ 40.00 for 30 days single/multiple entry, US $ 100.00 for 90 days single/multiple entry. Visa can be obtained only through payment of cash in the following currency: US dollar, Euro, Swiss Franc, Pound Sterling, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Hong-Kong dollar, Singapore dollar and Japanese Yen. Credit Card and Indian currency are not accepted for payment of Visa fee. For the Indian national no need to issue visa enter to Nepal but necessary to show their driving license with photo or election commission card with photo in the immigration of Nepal.

Arriving By Plane
The most popular way to get to Nepal is by Air. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal.

Arriving By Land
By land you can cross the border from India and China (Tibet). Here are the borders open to the foreigners; other area is totally prohibited to enter Nepal for foreigners.

  • Kodari (Sindhupalchok, with Tibet/ Republic of China).
    If you are in Tibet, you can enter to Nepal by crossing the border Kodari (Friendship Bridge). From Kodari just 06 hours drive to Kathmandu the capital city of Nepal.
  • Belhiya Sunauli (Bharahawa, Rupandehi, Western Part of Nepal with India).
    By land enter to Nepal very popular border from India, where people come from famous holy city Varanasi and north part Gorakhpur. From Sunauli you can reach Lumbini, Pokhara and Kathmandu in a day.
  • Birgunj (Parsa, Nepal central with India).
    This overland route is famous via Gorakhpur using train to the Raxaul/Birgunj border station. The people come from Bihar Patna India. You can reach Kathmandu only 08 hours bus drive in a day / night trip to Kathmandu City.
  • Gadda Chauki /Mahendranagar (Terai, Kanchanpur, Far Western Nepal with India).
    This border can use where the people come from New Delhi, Bareli & Nanital of Uttarakhand India.
  • Mohana (Dhangadhi, Kailali, Far Western Nepal with India).
    This border can use where the people come from Uttar Prades India.
  • Jamunaha (Nepalgunj, Banke, Mid-western Nepal with India).
    This border can use where the people come from famous city Luckhnow of Uttar Prades.
  • Kakarvitta- Pani Tanki (Jhapa, Eastern Part Nepal with Darjeeling/Sikkim / Bhutan by land).
    If you are in Darjeeling or West Bengal you can come to Nepal via Karkarvitta. This is the also easiest border to enter Bhutan by land.
